Loweberry and Byers is set within parkland that is part of a Biodiversity Net Gain scheme contributing to the long-term regeneration of local habitats and the rewilding of our rural landscapes. This complements the estate’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and low-impact living.

Encompassing 2,500 acres of arable farmland and livestock grazing, the Prestwold Estate plays a vital role in sustainable agriculture and soil management, key components in the wider challenge of reaching net zero by 2050. Over the past 25 years, more than 20,000 trees and 17km of hedgerows have been planted, nurturing a rich variety of native flora and fauna.

The estate is a pioneer in renewable energy. The main house and surrounding buildings are powered almost entirely by biomass and solar energy. Nearby, the former Wymeswold Airfield is now home to 150 acres of solar panels generating 36MW of clean energy enough to power around 9,000 homes.
